ASK QFIN- March Edition
Welcome to the March Edition of ASK QFIN! This month, we’ll be discussing spring footwear styles, the resurgence of denim on denim, and how to navigate this exam season in style, ending off with some hot takes as always!
Light on Your Feet- Spring Footwear Styles
The sun is coming out, and that means our Spring closets are opening up for the season, including all the shoe styles that couldn’t withstand the Winter cold. Here are some fun footwear options to spice up your outfits this Spring.
Loafers: Perfect for a casual day in the city or a night on the town, depending on the outfit you pair them with.
Kitten Heels: It’s formal season! If high heels aren’t your thing, these micro-heeled shoes are the perfect accessory to match that elegant dress or fancy tux, depending on your vibe for the night.
Sneakers: Sneakers will never not be in style. This spring, play around with fun designs and cool colorways to try something new for your everyday shoe.
BONUS:
Crocs: Hot take but crocs are the ideal shoe to take on finals season with. From the library to the exam room, crocs will get you through tough times (they’ll even lovingly carry you through your Sunday hangover- even if it’s just to the front door to grab your Uber Eats order)
Cozy Confidence - Navigating Exam Season in Style
With exam season quickly approaching, it is hard to ignore the looming stress of endless library trips and sleepless nights. Amid this chaos, it is easy to put personal style on the backburner. However, sporting an equally comfortable and stylish look can help you feel confident and focused while your head’s in the books. Here are some fun tips for mastering the art of style and comfort!
Prioritize A Cozy Sweat Set: a staple in the average student’s wardrobe, you can’t go wrong with a matching set that will make you look put together, while still being comfortable for a day of studying.
Embrace Athleisure Pieces: a nice pair yoga pants, a cozy oversized sweater, or a pair of track pants will not only feel comfortable, but look effortlessly chic.
Invest in Cozy Loungewear: For those at-home study sessions, nothing beats a matching PJ set.
Whether you choose to prioritize personal style or not during this trying time, remember that there is always time for self-care, in whatever form you may choose!
The Resurgence of the Canadian Tuxedo
Beyoncé country era is here, and it has brought gifts of dance, good music, and loads of fashion inspiration. Her latest Cowboy Carter-inspired outfit brings back the double denim trend of the early 00s with a cowboy twist.
However, Beyoncé isn’t the first star to embrace the denim on denim look. At Paris Fashion Week, many looks featured the denim on denim street style curation. Celebrities like Sydney Sweeney have also taken to experiment with their own interpretation of the jeans only look.
It’s true that fashion trends arrive in cycles, often reminiscent of the past. If the iconic Britney-and-Justin moment is here for Spring 2024, I’m all for it. The beauty of this trend is that many of us have pieces to participate in our own wardrobes already.
There are many ways to style different types of denim to show your own interpretation of the trend. I personally like the look of dark denim together. Paired with my very own denim shoulder bag, I’ve given Bing Crosby a run for his money. So don’t be afraid to take fashion risks and pull out that old denim or thrift some new ones, or as Beyoncé says it, put on those Levi’s Jeans!
