Kit Keenan: More Than Just a Pretty Face

It comes as no surprise to find Kit Keenan dominating the world of social media and influencing. Daughter of American fashion designer Cynthia Rowley, Kit has most definitely picked up some invaluable skills from her mom that have led her to the success she has had recently. As beautiful as she is, she is much more than just a pretty face, or one that you might recognize from last year’s season of ‘The Bachelor’. Kit is a recent graduate of NYU with a degree in fashion and business and started her own capsule collection back in 2018, labelled KIT. It’s rare to find an influencer as transparent as her on Instagram, sharing everything from skincare tips, dating advice, and a look into her not-so-good days. With just a few scrolls through her Instagram, it is apparent that Kit is a major foodie and has a love for cooking. She shares recipes under the hashtag #whatskitcooking and emphasizes the importance of incorporating healthy and nutritious ingredients into every meal.

Co-host of @agelesspodcast with her mom, Kit is well versed in various forms of social media. Every other week, they introduce a new topic focused on fashion and wellness and often invite special guests to share their experiences on the week’s topic. Recent guests have included designer Rebecca Minkoff, model Emily Didonato, and writer Elise Taylor. Their podcast is a great inside scoop into celebrities' day-to-day lives while also creating a comforting mother-daughter dialogue that will have you hooked by the first episode. Kit also has her own Youtube channel, where she posts vlogs, what I eat in a day, and unboxings. These kinds of videos are popular amongst Gen Z, evident through an average of 15,000 views on her videos with only 6,000 subscribers.

Kit has made New York City her personality in the best way possible. She emanates everything that draws you into the big city and lives her life to the absolute fullest. With a summer home in Montauk, it’s where she seems to feel the most at peace, and who can blame her? From skiing to surfing, Kit would also attest to being a major fan of the outdoors; for someone who can surf in high heels, I wouldn’t be doubtful of this claim! Sporting her mother’s collection on the slopes and in the sea, it is clear that Rowley draws inspiration from her own daughter for her designs. Honorable mention to Kit’s sister, Gigi, who also has an eye for creativity, as her Instagram would suggest.

Kit has surrounded herself with a solid group of friends who seem to share their love for creativity, fashion, and well-being with her. She has been seen hanging around the likes of Charlotte Lawrence and Kaia Gerber from time to time. Lawrence is a musician from Los Angeles and childhood best friends with Kit. They attended the CFDA Fashion Awards in 2019 together, wearing Cynthia Rowley, of course. Kaia, daughter of supermodel Cindy Crawford, and Kit have been pictured working out together at the celebrity-filled Dogpound in Los Angeles.

I had the pleasure of talking to Kit about how she deals with being in the public eye and the stresses that come with constantly being pressured to have everything figured out.

“I often get caught up with what others think of me simply due to my issues around wanting to control everything and control my narrative. It’s so important to let that go in life in order to find peace and true self love.”
