6. @haleyestradaa
Fashion and beauty guru Haley Estrada is a Vancouver based influencer that redefined work-life balance. Between managing a personal blog, a YouTube channel with 13K subscribers, and classy Instagram aesthetic, the petite stylist makes sure to have time to post relatable content for her fans. She has been active in promoting and educating her followers about Black Lives Matter and takes the time to link all of her resources for her 16.6K Instagram followers. Haley sets expectations and standards high, not only for her followers but also for herself to be accountable to her fans. In her opinion “every Influencer, or anyone who has a following on social media for that fact, does have a responsibility to be transparent and share information on social issues. Of course, everybody has the responsibility of educating themselves on ongoing issues in our world, but a lot of people’s voices are often not heard so that’s where people with a big following come in to amplify and make sure those important voices are heard. Personally, I strive to make my page a place where women can get inspired to be creative, but also a place where they can become better educated on social issues and look deeper into their lifestyles and ways of living. I think that Influencers should be providing value that is deeper than surface level and transparency is something that should be a no-brainer!”. Make sure to watch Haley’s videos and follow her pages for more insight!

She also regularly films and discusses her workouts as a former pole fitness teacher and posts regularly the healthy foods she eats to feel confident. Lisa does this so that she is not creating unrealistic body expectations for her followers and instead talks about how hard she has had to work to achieve what she has. She most recently put out two trips to Bali that will take place next year and has outlined itineraries for her fans to get a complete experience similar to what she shows on her page. 4. @aliya.will
Aliya Will is everything an influencer should be: inspirational, authentic, and a genuine role model for people everywhere. We had a chance to chat with Aliya about why she has always run her platforms with an emphasis on social responsibility, “Looking back to when I was younger, I didn’t have many role models in the media that I could look to. My mother remains a big role model for me, but when it came to television, film, etc., I didn’t see girls with hair like mine, and to be honest, I still don’t see many people with natural hair, especially locks, in the media.” Aliya uses her platform to show off her beautiful hairstyles and encourages other people of color, especially women, to embrace their natural hair and cultural styles. She continues by saying, “ I didn’t see girls with my complexion in many multidimensional and complex roles. I suppose I’ve never really thought of myself to be a role model, but it’s important to me that girls that look like me see the beauty in their hair, in their complexion, and know that we’re each multifaceted beings. I think I’m just trying to be the type of person I wish I got to see more of in the media when I was a little girl!” Between style inspiration, young girls struggling to find their identity, and older audiences looking to educate themselves while interacting with her posts, @aliya_will is an amazing resource for everyone.

It’s immaculate to see how easy it is to speak to “one person” from an ethical standpoint, whether it be POC, LGBTQ+ community, etc. and have that message resonate with thousands”.
