QFIN Basics: Getting Ready When You’re Feeling Lazy

Recently, I’ve been so tired in the mornings and I’ve been getting up later than I should for work. I used to take 45 minutes to get ready and out the door but after learning these tricks, I was able to shave 15 minutes off my morning routine. These tips are so helpful for people who are lazy but also to those who want tips aside from wearing sweats and a messy bun. I promise you these tips are extremely low effort without compromising the quality of looks you serve.

1. Wear Monochromatic Colour Schemes

Styling monochromatic outfits don’t just involve shades of grey to black, monochromatic outfits can also be colourful. The colourful aspect of this tip is what makes it great, because it creates the illusion of being put together – even if you aren’t. With monochromatic outfits, it’s best to pair pieces of the same colour but different shades in order to break up the look. Otherwise, you get lost in the fabric with no contrast. An exception to colour contrasting would be if the outfit had a physical break between the top and bottoms, so the waistline gets defined, or if the patterns contrast each other. You can see this with Instagram user, @lamlamago, and her pastel purple outfit that the top and skirt are the same colour but is contrasted by the pattern and cropped at the waist.

2. Spot Concealing

Spot concealing is such a time and effort saver. Depending on your comfort levels and what type of coverage you prefer, spot concealing may not work for some. However, spot concealing specific areas of the face such as your nose bridge, under the eyes, and the inner and outer corners of your eye can subtly highlight and lift your face. First seen on TikTok, this is now the go-to concealer method to achieve the fox-eye effect.

 3. Neutral Colour Combinations

If you don’t like colourful clothing, but still want to put together pieces easily without thinking? Go for neutral colours. Neutral colours tend to go with most pieces – even statement ones, making them amazingly versatile and easy to style. Nude colours like tan, beige, or brown look extremely chic – you just have to find shades that match your skin tone. Like pairing monochromatic outfits, the colours of the pieces should be contrasting. To start, you can start pairing a light neutral piece with a black one. Once you get to know which colours fit you best, you can then start pairing multiple shades of neutral pieces together for a modern look.

These are my best and most-used tips for now. If you have any tips you swear by or ones you think everyone should know, please leave a comment on our Instagram page!
