The Best of February 2021

February is one of my favourite months of the year. Every store is decorated with red and pink decor, and the cold winter air is at an all-time blast - making it the perfect time to have an indoor coffee date with friends. This February, I kept a list of all my favourite purchases to recommend to family and housemates and loyal QFIN followers, of course. (All links to pieces will be at the bottom of the article!)

Without a doubt, my favourite purchase has been a new tan IAMGIA dress which I combined ordered with the various colour combinations of the same crop top. These garments’ quality shows when washed; they are durable and are not quick to have the dye fade out after a few washes. While the price is steeper than I would care to spend on a couple of core pieces, but customers get their money worth and detailed descriptions of texture, material, and fit ahead of purchasing.

My following recommendation is La Perla sets. Valentine’s Day may have come and gone, but these sets are guaranteed to last until not only the next year but up to a decade later. Their silk pyjamas and careful stitching makes every piece I ordered feel like a luxury when wearing, which considering the toll they took on my bank account this month, is to be expected.

On a beauty note, I bought some new and recurring must-haves this month. I am always faithful to my trusty Gucci Rouge à Lèvres Voile Sheer Lipstick and had to buy another colour. This product is on the more expensive side for lipstick, but the texture, pigmentation, and longitude of use makes up for it. My favourite shades are currently a tie between Mildred Rosewood, Louisa Red, and The Painted Veil.

Another beauty product I cannot stop raving about has to be the Laneige sleeping lip mask in Vanilla. I have never been one for scented beauty products, but this lip mask singlehandedly battled the cold Kingston air and helped revitalise the leftover frostbite that was destroying my lips. It stays overnight and comes with a little brush to help portion control the amount of product used. Relatively inexpensive and a definite must-have available to anyone with access to Sephora or the internet!

Another obsession you’ll all read more about very soon (teaser) is my recent addiction to stealing my roommate’s corset tops (thank you, Hannah, this article could not have been completed without you). From Shein to Aritzia, I can honestly say they are all about an equal calibre of strength against a socially distanced night out at a bar after trying every possible type.

Last but not least, my final of my February Favourites has got to be the custom jewellery of @Charlie.Beads on Instagram! I am obsessed with each piece’s unique elements and how different they are from other “similar” beading stores. I highly recommend everyone to check them out if you (or your friends) are interested in one of a kind pieces along with a variety of selection from rings to necklaces, bracelets and everything in between!
